Funerals

It is a privilege to create the perfect funeral ceremony for your loved one.

I believe that funerals should be centered around the wishes of the person, who has passed and their family.

I offer mainly non-religious ceremonies, however if you wanted to include prayers such as the Lords Prayer, then I can honour your wishes.

I can guarantee that you will be treated with dignity, kindness and understanding. Together we will create a funeral ceremony that truly reflects your loved one.

You will not be rushed, and everything will be done at your pace.

I understand that when someone passes away, it feels totally overwhelming. Grief to everyone is different and there is no right or wrong way to feel following a loss.

At Ceremonies & Celebrations I have vast experience and Knowledge of the funeral industry.
I have a good eye for detail when it comes to planning a ceremony.

We will support and guide you through every step of the way.

Time
Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love,
Time is an eternity............
Written by Henry Van Dyke.

Here's what happens
I will liaise with your chosen Funeral Directors. I understand that communication is paramount. This lessens the worry for you.

I will arrange a planning meeting convenient to you. During this meeting we will talk about your loved one and how they lived their life.
This gives me the opportunity to really understand the essence of them.

I will discuss with you your chosen music, poetry, readings and also the eulogy. I have an extensive library of readings and poetry if you are unsure what you would like and what is most appropriate for your loved one.

Following the initial meeting I will produce a draft copy of the ceremony script with all the elements we have discussed, within your specified time frame .
Once you have received the draft copy of the ceremony script, you will be able to make changes. After we have made the changes. You will receive the revised copy of the script. Just to make sure you like the script, but again we will make any changes. Nothing is set in stone.
The day before the funeral I will contact you, just to check in with you and your family. This is an opportunity to get any worries or questions answered. In my experience no question is a silly one.
On the day of the funeral I will meet you and support you through the ceremony. You will not feel rushed, everything is at your pace.

At Ceremonies & Celebrations I offer an after service, we provide support for the first few weeks after the funeral.
I know that this can be particularly overwhelming time,
Since the passing of your loved one there has been so much to do and arrange. You haven't had the time to think. The weeks following the funeral can be over- powering. Sometimes it can help to talk about your loved one.
We can also put you in touch with bereavement charities and organisations that specialise in supporting families through the early days of loss.

Those we love
Those we love don't go away:
They walk beside us,
Everyday.
Unseen, Unheard, but always nearby.
Still loved, Still missed and forever dear
Written by Alex Maclean.

At Ceremonies and Celebrations we also provide bespoke non-religious memorial and the interment of ashes.
